First, make sure it is actually bed bugs
A surprising number of "bed bug" calls turn out to be something else — carpet beetles, fleas, or just itchy suspicion. Bed bug treatment is intensive and specific, so we never start it on a guess. Our inspection looks for the real evidence: live bugs in mattress seams and box springs, shed skins, and the dark rust-colored spotting they leave along seams and headboards. If we do not find evidence, we tell you that — and what it might be instead.
Orlando's tourism economy makes bed bugs a constant background risk. They hitchhike in luggage, used furniture, and shared laundry rooms. Hotels, vacation rentals, and multi-unit buildings see them most, but any home can pick them up from travel.
Why bed bugs need a real plan
Bed bugs hide in cracks thinner than a credit card, they feed at night and vanish by morning, and the females lay eggs daily. A can of spray kills the bugs you see and drives the rest deeper into walls and furniture. Partial treatment is how a small problem becomes a whole-house problem. Effective treatment means hitting every harborage — mattress, box spring, bed frame, nightstands, baseboards, outlets, and nearby furniture — in a coordinated plan, usually across more than one visit to catch newly hatched nymphs.
What to expect from our process
We confirm the infestation and map its extent room by room. You get a prep checklist — laundering, decluttering, and furniture positioning that makes treatment effective. We treat all harborages with products chosen for bed bugs specifically, then schedule follow-up visits to verify elimination. We also talk prevention: luggage habits, secondhand furniture inspection, and what to do after travel.
How It Works: Our Bed Bug Process
- Inspection and confirmation. We look for real evidence only: live bugs in mattress seams and box springs, shed skins, dark rust-colored spotting along seams and headboards. No evidence, no treatment. We tell you what it is instead.
- Room-by-room mapping. We map exactly how far the infestation has spread, because the treatment plan for one bedroom is very different from the plan for three rooms plus the living room.
- Your prep checklist. Laundering, decluttering, and furniture positioning that make treatment effective. Prep quality directly affects results, so we make the checklist clear and doable.
- Treatment visits. We treat every harborage: mattress, box spring, bed frame, nightstands, baseboards, outlets, and nearby furniture, with products chosen for bed bugs specifically.
- Follow-up visits. Timed to catch newly hatched nymphs the first visit could not reach. This is the step one-visit operators skip, and it is why their problems come back.
- Verification and prevention. We confirm elimination with follow-up inspections, then coach you on travel habits and secondhand furniture so it does not happen again.
The prep checklist: your part matters
Bed bug treatment is a partnership, and the prep work is your half. Hot-launder bedding, clothing, and curtains, then heat-dry them: heat is what kills every life stage. Declutter floors, closets, and under beds so we can reach every harborage. Pull furniture a few inches from walls. Bag the laundered items so they stay clean.
Just as important is what not to do. Do not move infested items to other rooms: that spreads them. Do not start sleeping on the couch: they will follow you there and now you have two infested rooms. Do not fog the room: bug bombs scatter bed bugs deeper into walls and neighboring units. We will give you the full checklist at the inspection, and we will be honest about which items matter most if time is short.
Why two or more visits are standard
Anyone promising one-visit bed bug elimination is selling hope. Here is the biology: eggs hatch in about a week or two, and no treatment reaches every egg in every crack on the first pass. The first visit eliminates the active population. The follow-up, timed to the hatch cycle, catches the nymphs that emerged after. A verification check confirms the cycle is broken.
This is also why we map room by room. A single-room infestation caught early might resolve in two visits. A whole-unit infestation that has had months to spread needs more. We scope it honestly at the inspection instead of quoting a flat number of visits for every situation.
Bed bugs in rentals: tenants and landlords
Orlando's rental and vacation market makes bed bugs a building problem, not just a unit problem. They travel through wall voids, along pipes, and on shared laundry equipment. Treating one unit while the neighboring unit stays infested is how the cycle never ends.
If you are a tenant: tell your landlord or property manager early. Early reports mean smaller infestations and simpler treatment. If you manage properties: coordinated inspection of adjacent units is not upselling, it is the only approach that works. We handle multi-unit coordination directly and document everything per unit.
Do not wait and do not self-treat
Every week of delay is another breeding cycle. And please do not fog the room — "bug bombs" scatter bed bugs into walls and neighboring units. Send the form below or call (301) 679-9193 for a free inspection.
